Seminar room “Jovan Lovčević” renovated thanks to the donations collected by the Serbian Fiscal Society
On 27 September 2019, the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law hosted the solemn opening of the seminar room no. 217, which had been renovated during preceding summer months thanks to the donations collected by the Serbian Fiscal Society, above all by its member Srđan Petrović who initiated and lead this endeavor to its completion. Seminar room bears the name of Dr. Jovan Lovčević, professor of Public finances and financial law at the Faculty of law from 1926 until 1964.
Seminar room “Jovan Lovčević“ was completely renovated and equipped using high quality equipment in line with contemporary requirements of teaching. It is intended to be used for classes of tax-related courses, i.e. courses organized by the Law and Economics department of the Faculty of Law, on undergraduate, master and doctoral studies.
President of the Serbian Fiscal Society, Prof. Dr. Dejan Popović presented to the audience the century and a half long history of study and teaching in the field of public finances, financial and tax law at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law and the astounding representatives thereof. Prof. Dr. Zoran Mirković, dean of the Faculty of Law welcomed the audience and expressed, on behalf of the Faculty of law, deepest gratitude and respect for this endeavor of the Serbian Fiscal Society which represents an important step in the preservation of the donating tradition.
